For Luke's 8th Birthday, rather than go for the traditional 'party' or 'bowling trip', we decided to take Luke and his friend Lawrence on the London Duck Tour. The vehicles used are 2nd World War amphibious troop carriers (originally called a DUKW) that have been converted for civilian use. The tour consists of a one and a quarter hour trip around some of the well known spots in London, mainly in Westminster, including a 20 minute cruise on the Thames. The best bit is going down the bank near Vauxhall Bridge and splashing into the Thames - a very strange feeling! After the tour, we took a walk along the south side of the Thames all the way to Tower Bridge.
